ILUMINARC® strives to develop, source and market energy-efficient lighting. Our product lines shun traditional lamp sources in favor of LEDs.
While we vigorously explore all emerging lighting technologies that save energy, we strongly believe that LEDs offer the best current solution in terms of efficiency, quality, and marketability. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, “no other lighting technology offers as much potential to save energy and enhance the quality of our building environments.” LEDs also last longer than their incandescent and halogen counterparts, which helps reduce waste and the frequency of replacement. Further, unlike fluorescent sources, they do not contain hazardous mercury.
All ILUMINARC® products meet rigorous European RoHS standards, which restrict levels of certain hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium and mercury in electrical and electronic equipment sold into the European market.
Internally, ILUMINARC® encourages environmental responsibility. We join industry organizations that promote green initiatives and encourage energy conservation. Our 75,000-square-foot headquarters in Sunrise, Fla., was designed to incorporate energy-efficient ventilation and lighting systems, as well as flooring and paint materials that are sensitive to the environment. Other eco-conscious initiatives include drastically reducing the use of paper throughout the entire facility and eliminating its use altogether in some departments. We also promote the use of recyclable materials in our literature and packaging.
We know firsthand that going green can be challenged by practical concerns and business realities. Yet, it is up to each of us to start the process and lead by example, albeit one step at a time.
